The E002 machine tap from Dormer is manufactured from premium High Speed cobalt and so provides much improved performance and a longer tool life. The spiral flute design makes the tap suitable for efficient threading of holes which stop part way through the work piece (blind holes) whilst the bright finish helps prevent work piece material from sticking to the cutting edges of the tap, ensuring a more accurate thread. Manufactured conforming to the International Standardization Organisation, the E002 is a very versatile tap and can be used to produce metric coarse threads in many materials including steels, aluminium and stainless steel.
